Disruption is due to last for more than three weeks
Passengers are being warned to expect weeks of disruption on Metrolink services in the city centre. Two tram stops will be out of service for more than three weeks while engineering works take place.
Transport for Greater Manchester says the disruption is due to 'essential Metrolink renewal works' close to both Shudehill and Market Street. A replacement bus service is running every 12 minutes between Victoria and Piccadilly, in both directions, while the work takes place. A signed walking route is also in place, while Metrolink passengers heading between Victoria and Piccadilly will be able to change at St Peter's Square. All trams on the Bury to Altrincham and Manchester Airport lines will run via Exchange Square, rather than their usual route through Shudehill.
