MANILA, Philippines — As the week-long transportation strike is set to begin Monday, March 6, the Manila International Airport Authority urged all air travelers to be at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport earlier than the usual three hours before flight departure time.
“Passengers are encouraged to monitor news reports in tri-media regarding transport situations in their areas and check the status of their flight before going to the NAIA to avoid inconvenience,” the MIAA said in a statement.However, MIAA assured the public that local airline companies and airline service providers have already prepared contingency measures to ensure minimal work interruption in their operations.
In fact, MIAA General Manager Cesar Chiong has directed the deployment of MIAA shuttle buses to and from Dasmariñas Cavite for MIAA employees living in various parts of Cavite.
