“Apart from the inconvenience, it is highly inefficient, with travellers dragging their bags around and creating further congestion in the check-in area.”
I recently made a return trip with Jetstar from Ballina to Hobart and as there are no direct flights on this route I had to change flights in Sydney, each time collecting my bag from the carousel and then checking-in for the onward flight. I had over a three-hour wait between flights each way, but Jetstar would not allow me to check in until 90 minutes beforehand, leaving me condemned to the hell-hole of the baggage collection area that’s without seats and only one small coffee shop.
We were caught out by the app requirements. Downloading them proved time-consuming and ultimately futile, as at the end they would not accept our phone number. In both cases, we were a couple of minutes over the allotted 10 before we hurriedly left. All these car parks have CCTV, so the owner knows exactly what happened. My husband and I had bought a booking at the Marhaba Lounge, Melbourne Airport, as a gift for family visiting from Japan at Christmas.
