Travellers scheduled to fly in or out of Sydney Airport have had their plans derailed thanks to wild winds forcing single-runway operations, leading many airlines to delay or cancel flights.
Major delays and cancellations are ahead for passengers flying through the city’s primary airport, which has been forced into single-runway operations.
As of Monday morning, 39 flights both in and out of the airport have already been cancelled, with this figure only expected to increase.Planes trying to land at Sydney Airport appear to have been hit the hardest by the adverse weather, with 23 flights coming into the Harbour City cancelled.A Sydney Airport spokesman said the east-west runway was the only one in operation, with the two north-south runways currently closed.
