Police have confirmed the identity of a woman found in the River Moy in Ballina as 28-year-old Roisin Cryan from Carrick-on-Shannon
Gardai have named the woman whose body was recovered from the River Moy in Ballina in Co Mayo. She has been named locally as Róisín Cryan, 28, from Ard Na Sí in Attyrory, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, who was the fiancée of Mayo senior footballer Conor Loftus, 29.

One said said: ‘’Heartfelt sympathy to Joe, Marguerite and Roisin’s sisters and to the extended Cryan and Loftus families on your great loss. Maeve and Roisin were always in and out of our house when they were children, playing with the dog and chatting to my parents, Eamonn and Bridie. With my sympathy and fond regards. Take good care of yourselves and of each other.
“Our heartfelt thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time. We have been in contact with our members involved, and they have requested that we all understand their need for privacy at this incredibly difficult time."
