Doctors thought he had acid reflux but it turned out to be cancer
Loved ones have paid tribute to the ‘nicest’ and ‘kindest’ father of two who has died after battling with cancer. Aaron Parker, 37, who lived in Nuthall, was diagnosed with oesophagus cancer in December 2021 and underwent rounds of chemotherapy.
Chantelle explained that Aaron had always wanted “one of each” - a son and a daughter - “and he got that”. The mum-of-two added: “He was their idol, he was again, very hands on. Joshua was his best friend, he liked to get involved and take them to activities. Aaron was 36 years old when he was first diagnosed with cancer, he first saw signs in March 2021 and visited his GP which was treating him for acid reflux. Chantelle explained that by June 2021 Aaron was unable to swallow due to the tumour being so big.
The charity match took place on Sunday, July 28. It was raising money for Rainbows Bereavement GB. Chantelle said: "It’s a charity which has supported Joshua and will probably support Alannah when she goes into school with trauma and loss. Liam Reed, 39, lives in Carlton.
