Stan Dulton sadly died

Tributes have been paid to a Manchester music legend and granddad who has sadly passed away. Stan Dulton, also known as 'Red Hoffman' was the lead singer of The Measles and a member of Dougie James and The Soul Train.

Originally from the Langley estate near Middleton, he went by his stage name of Stan 'Red' Hoffman, and helped form The Measles in 1964. Fans gave him the 'Red' moniker due to his hair colour.Stan was a self taught multi instrumentalist and lead vocalist of The Measles which he started alongside bassist, Dave Earl, guitarist Wyn Davis, Ray Mondell on drums and Jomo Smith on lead guitar.

His time in the music industry saw him perform all over Europe and the Americas including a stint with The Bujjies in the Bahamas. In his later years, Stan settled down in Didsbury where he was a well known figure on the popular Burton Road.
