Trinny Woodall reveals her on-screen disagreement with Touker Suleyman on Dragon's Den, where their differing views on direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales models led to a lively exchange. Despite Touker's skepticism, Trinny argues for the power of D2C businesses, drawing on her own experience in the online marketplace.

Trinny Woodall candidly discussed her on-screen disagreement with Dragon's Den investor Touker Suleyman during a recent appearance on This Morning. The clash occurred on the latest episode of Dragon's Den when Trinny, a celebrity guest, found herself at odds with Touker over his skepticism towards a contestant's reliance on direct-to-consumer (D2C) online sales.

Touker questioned the sustainability of the strategy, asking, 'How do you switch it all off and still keep the lights on?' Trinny, expressing surprise, countered, 'You always come up with this thing of, like, the end of D2C. When I watch this show, I hear you say it. I just umbrage because I think there is power in D2C.'Despite their differing viewpoints, both Trinny and Touker presented offers to the contestant. Ultimately, Trinny decided to go for a joint deal alongside fellow Dragon Deborah Meaden. On This Morning, Trinny elaborated on the disagreement, revealing Touker's concerns about the contestant's business model. 'What happened was he was sort of challenging this woman, saying,'You're doing a lot of director consumer and you're growing as a business, you haven't made money yet'. 'So when you're a business that's online, you have to grow that business and she had gotten a little bit of investment so she was growing a business,' she explained.Trinny highlighted her own success with online businesses, emphasizing that 75% of her operations are internet-based, despite Touker's doubts. 'That was his opinion, I've known him for 30 years. We have to just know what goes on behind the scenes. I've known him for 30 years and so I felt I could challenge him because I knew him. I was like, 'Come on Touker'. It was really fun to do! But it was not, you know how some of those things are for television? It was just what happened,' she said. When asked by Alison Hammond who she'd choose as a Dragon if she were starting her own business today, Trinny stated that either Sara Davies or Deborah Meaden would be her top picks.
