Triple murder Jordan Monaghan Triple murder Jordan Monaghan showed 'no emotion' to being charged with the murder of his two infant children and girlfriend.
On the evening of 17th August, 2013, Laura Gray of Blackburn, Lancashire, went to wake her son, 21-month-year-old Logan, from a nap in his pram. After discovering that he was unresponsive, Laura rushed Logan to hospital. Seen in police interview footage, Monaghan is asked outright if he killed his children. “No,” he replies. Probed further on the events leading up to Ruby’s death, Monaghan blankly explains that he was watching TV. “Watching TV. Yeah, I was watching Die Hard,” he says, adding that Ruby was in her Moses basket.
She said: 'We asked for advice from forensic pathologist, paediatric pathologist, neurologist, cardiologist, infectious diseases specialist, geneticist, all to rule out any potential natural cause for Ruby's death. In December 2021, Monaghan went on trial facing three counts of murder at Preston Crown Court. “This is probably the biggest murder trial that’s taken place in a generation,” journalist Rachel Smith remembers. “The jury took 26 hours to finally deliver a verdict that was spread over almost five days worth of court time.”
