"A lot of times we get so many students that they’re behind academically that’s it’s hard for us to catch them up for what they are supposed to be because they already wasted some time in this charter school ."SAN ANTONIO- The doors to Triumph Public High School will soon open to its students. As a charter high school, they promise to work with at-risk kids to push them to get their high school diplomas . However, not everyone is on board with the concept.

"We really focus on a specific population and as I said through something that is a model that is non-traditional that allows that particular segment of the student population to have more opportunities at graduating and finishing high school," Nestor Esparza Mangana, Triumph Public High Schools.Carmen Hurtado, a teacher with San Antonio ISD says in her experience, the kids who fall behind in charter school often get sent back to public school with no support.
