A city festival boss has expressed his shock at how quickly tickets have sold this year.
As TRNSMT is set to kick off on Friday, Geoff Ellis told the Glasgow Times that 2024 has seen a record year in the speed of sales.
His comment comes after Glasgow's concert calendar proved to be jam-packed this year with huge outdoor shows at Hampden Park from Pink and Foo Fighters last month while TRNSMT Friday headliner Liam Gallagher performed two sold-out shows at the Hydo in June.
Thousands of festival goers will flock to Glasgow Green this weekend as TRNSMT 2024 officially kicks off on Friday.with sets from the likes of Rick Astley, Sugababes, and The Vaccines - as well as headliner performances from Calvin Harris, Gerry Cinnamon, and Liam Gallagher."Calvin Harris will be making his debut as well and I can't think of a better way to close a festival than with him. It will be magnificent.
She added:"As a promoter our job is to really encourage that grassroot talent as far and wide as we can from King Tut's through to the main stage here. It's really exciting and satisfying for us to see talented artists coming through."As always fans can see music across thetrucks and bars will ensure revellers don't go hungry while the festival will offer a range of amusement rides - like the big wheel alongside a non-alcoholic booze truck for the first time ever.
