Tropical Storm Debby is expected to make a second landfall in South Carolina sometime late Wednesday night, bringing intense winds along the South Carolina coast and parts of North Carolina.
Tropical Storm Debby is churning over coastal Georgia and the Carolinas on Wednesday as it continues dumping rain in the areas before it heads north. The storm could regain strength and turn north toward the South Carolina coastline before making a second landfall late Wednesday or Thursday morning, weather officials told the Associated Press.
In anticipation of Debby, states of emergency were declared in South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. Debby is expected to move inland Thursday dumping 3-5 inches of rain impacting areas of South Carolina and extending into east-central North Carolina, including Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, and Fayetteville.
