Armed police were called to the estate as a helicopter circled overhead
Police have issued a dispersal zone on a troubled estate after reports of a gang of youths with a "gun".
Merseyside Police were called to Fifth Avenue, outside Wirral WRAP School, at around 3.15pm on Wednesday, October 4. An initial call reported there was a gang of youths outside the school with a suspected gun. The order comes under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour & Policing Act 2014, which gives police officers and police community support traffic officers powers to direct people who are engaging in antisocial behaviour or are likely to become involved in such incidents. These powers will not be used for anyone visiting the area and going about their daily business.
