Several crews were sent to a remote area of the Dixie National Forest, north of Zion National Park, after a truck and trailer caught fire on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
Several crews were sent to a remote area of the Dixie National Forest, north of Zion National Park, after a truck and trailer caught fire. The fire broke out just after noon Thursday north of Kolob Reservoir near the Washington County/Iron County line.Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but not before the truck and trailer were destroyed.
Officials with Hurricane Valley Fire & Rescue said the fire was contained to the vehicle, and did no spread to the nearby brush.Officials did not say if anyone was with the truck at the time, or how many people were there.Traffic cameras from the Utah Department of Transportation capture videos of massive flames near milemarker 29 near Toquerville.Flames could be seen jumping into the grass and brush on the right side of the interstate.
