One of the most enduring mysteries of the Great Train Robbery has finally been unlocked after a former railway detective claimed to have established the true identity of the shadowy 'Ulsterman', who was reputed to have provided key information that sparked to the daring 1963 heist.
More than 50-years on from the 'crime of the century', The Telegraph can also reveal the name of another gang member who managed to slip the net and was never identified by police.
