Former president Donald Trump’s campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt alleged that President Joe Biden 'emboldened' Iran by reversing his predecessor's sanctions previously over the country. Leavitt appeared on Fox and Friends Sunday hours after the United States intercepted drones launched by Iran and headed for Israel.

“The sad truth is, this would have never happened to Israel if President Trump were still in the White House,” Leavitt said. “He signed historic sanctions on the Iranian regime, cutting off the neck of the Iranians. They had never been more weak, more broke. And just in a matter of a few years, Joe Biden has reversed all of President Trump’s very effective policies and now they have been emboldened. And we’ve seen that aggression.
Trump is running for a second presidential term this November. Leavitt claimed that Trump intends to reinstate the sanctions against Iran should he win the office. She also implied he has a plan to end the war between “Our adversaries will be deterred just by the fact that we will have a strong commander in chief and a rebuilding of our military like we saw in President Trump’s first term,” Leavitt said.National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and national security adviser Jake Sullivan, has condemned the attack.
As a result of Iran’s strike, the State Department warned U.S. government employees to avoid travel outside of the greater Tel Aviv area, Jerusalem, and Be’er Sheva.
