Donald Trump cancels his state visit to Denmark after Danish PM refuses to sell him Greenland
DONALD Trump has cancelled his state visit to Denmark after the Danish PM branded the president’s proposal to buy Greenland “absurd”.
On Sunday, Trump confirmed he had recently discussed the possibility of buying Greenland - a semi-autonomous territory of 57,000. Sharing a mocked-up picture of a Trump building in a remote village, he tweeted: "I promise not to do this to Greenland!"Ms Frederiksen said: "Greenland is not for sale. Greenland is not Danish. Greenland belongs to Greenland.The politician said that the Arctic, with resources that Russia and others could exploit for commercial gain, "is becoming increasingly important to the entire world community".
