Former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict on Thursday was met with swift fundraising pleas from both political parties.
The presumptive GOP presidential nominee, congressional Republicans, and Presidentmounted immediate fundraisers after Trump was found guilty by a Manhattan jury on all 34 criminal felony counts in his New York hush-money trial.
“I’M A POLITICAL PRISONER!” a Trump campaign fundraising email read. “I was just convicted in a RIGGED political Witch Hunt trial.” The National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee issued similar public fundraising pitches. In brief remarks made to reports standing outside the Manhattan courtroom, Trump railed against a “conflicted judge” for leading a “rigged, disgraceful trial.”
