Donald Trump is back in court for his hush money trial, the first criminal case against a former US president. At the start of the hearing, the judge ruled that Trump is in criminal contempt for violations of a gag order and fined him $9,000.

Asked by prosecutor Joshua Steinglass if there is anything wrong with this, Mr Davidson says there is not."I think that's our duty," he says.
The June meeting with National Enquirer editor-in-chief Dylan Howard was a"proffer session" for owner AMI to"gauge interest" in her story, Mr Davidson tells the court. Mr Davidson says the message was meant as an"entree or teaser" about Karen McDougal's allegations about the former president. From Mr Howard to Mr Davidson:"Did he cheat on Melania?"From Mr Davidson to Mr Howard:"I really can't say yet, sorry".
He explains that at that time, both tabloid and traditional media"would often enter into exclusive arrangements where someone would provide exclusive content to a media outlet".
