A new poll found that Donald Trump's position on abortion is overwhelmingly popular among Republicans.
/Morning Consult found that three-fifths of Republicans support leaving abortion to the states, though the share jumped to three-fourths when told that it was Trump’s stated position. The share of independents who support the position also jumped from 47% to 51% when told it was Trump’s position.
Democrats were also supportive of the idea states should determine abortion laws , but popularity for the plan dropped when they were told it was Trump’s position.
