Trump agrees to send extra patriot missile batteries, spy planes and troops to the Middle East to confront Iran threat
DONALD Trump is sending 1,500 troops, extra missiles and spy planes to the Middle East as tensions with Iran threaten to reach boiling point.
The deployments include a squadron of 12 fighter jets, manned and unmanned spy planes and a number of military engineers to beef up protection for forces. The White House cited threats the kingdom faces from Iran as the reasoning behind the massive weapons sale. Adding to the uncertainty, Trump alternated between tough talk toward the Islamic Republic and a more cautionary message, insisting he is open to negotiations with the country.On Friday he seemed to downplay the prospect of a war when he spoke at the White House.
However, since the seismic revolt, Iran has been led by murderous Islamic fundamentalists and tensions with Washington have remained ever since. In April 1980, the US ended diplomatic relations with Iran – a break which lasted for more than 30 years.
