Witness David Pecker said, 'I was the person that thought there would be a lot of women to come out try to sell their stories.'
Former President Donald Trump speaks to the media while departing Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday Ex-President Donald Trump was the ‘most eligible bachelor’ who ‘dated the most beautiful women’, testified the first witness in his hush money trial. Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker detailed his relationship with Trump when it came to ‘catch-and-kill’, or purchasing and killing potentially negative stories.
‘I said what I would do is I would run or publish positive stories about Mr Trump, and publish negative stories about his opponents,’ Pecker said on his second day on the stand. Pecker added that Trump introduced him to Cohen in 2007 to let him know if ‘negative stories come out’. Essentially, Pecker served as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Trump campaign.
