NATO President Michael McHale said NATO's endorsement of the former president is due to his 'very public support' for law enforcement officers.
Former President Donald Trump has earned the support of at least 241,000 law enforcement officers across the U.S., as he received an endorsement from theIn a letter addressed to Trump on Wednesday, NATO President Michael McHale said he is "very pleased" to announce the endorsement and praised Trump 's "steadfast and very public support" for men and women in blue.
McHale added that NATO is a coalition of police unions and associations from throughout the nation. He said the group represents more than 1,000 police units and associations, as well as 241,000 officers, who are proud to support Trump. Trump, who is campaigning for his second term in the White House, was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania July 13 . During the shooting, 50-year-old retired fire chief Corey Comperatore was hit by a bullet while shielding his wife and daughter. He was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
Video of the shooting shows Trump grab his ear before he ducks and agents rush to his side. They flank him behind a podium on a stage.
