Former N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos has revealed the emotional toll of her time on 'I'm A Celebrity', stating it was 'too much' and left her feeling overwhelmed. Despite being eliminated as the third celebrity, Tulisa chose to leave Australia early, seeking solace and time for herself.
I'm A Celebrity star Tulisa Contostavlos has opened up about her distressing time on the show and admitted that it 'was too much'. The former N-Dubz singer shared an insight into her experience on this year's hit ITV show, revealing that she was left 'hyperventilating' and 'crying' after becoming the third celebrity voted out by the public.
Despite it being customary for eliminated contestants to remain in Australia until the conclusion of I'm A Celeb to watch the winner crowned, Tulisa flew home shortly after being voted out. She told the Guardian how it was 'too much' for her. Tulisa, 36, said: “I came out, still followed by cameras, all t**s and teeth, and it wasn’t until I was on my own that I felt this introvert-overload. I was hyperventilating, crying. It was too much. “Is this about a fear I have of being in the spotlight? Or is the person I’ve become just not the kind of person that wants fame any more?' Tulisa returned to the UK after her relatively short lived time on the show and she provided fans with an update on her current status, She took to Instagram and said: 'I was getting a lot of attention, a lot of bombarding, in all the most positive ways, but because it's been a bit of a while for me I can get overwhelmed quite easily and i just started to feel a little bit overwhelmed and I just thought, do you know what? I just need to take a bit of time for me and just chill it's all feeling a little bit much at the moment.' Tulisa found fame in the late 2000s as part of the hip-hop trio N-Dubz with her cousing Dappy and Fazer. The group would go from strength to strength as they picked up numerous awards including five MOBO awards. After the band split in 2011, Tulisa became a judge on X Factor alongside Simon Cowell. After a short stint on the judging panel of the ITV show she soon released her debut studio album, The Female Boss
