Beaming Sir Boyd Tunnock clearly has the hottest ticket in town… as he hops on a vintage bus to support a charity fundraiser.
Sir Boyd, who sponsored the ads used on the restored bus, said: “It’s a thrill to see this beautiful machine out on the road and back to its former glory especially as it features Tunnock’s adverts from the time.“It’s fantastic to have those memories again today. The bus, number L484, is the only remaining Leyland half-cab double-decker from a fleet of 631 run by Central SMT, then the largest operator in Central Scotland.
The fun-packed community event on Sunday July 28 features 130 classic buses, trucks and fire engines and will be opened by historian Paul Lyons, the face of Inside Central Station.
