On Tuesday afternoon, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared a disaster zone in the 10 provinces affected by the earthquakes,Turkey’s disaster management agency said it had 11,342 reports of collapsed buildings, of which 5,775 had been confirmed. A plane carrying 77 UK search and rescue specialists, state-of-the-art equipment and four search dogs has landed in Gaziantep in south-eastthe UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said. The team, made up of firefighters and staff from 14 fire and rescue services from across the country, will cut their way into buildings and help locate survivors in the rubble of the earthquakes.
