Repair Shop star Jay Blades talking with fans on brink of suicide five years after almost taking own life
REPAIR Shop host Jay Blades has revealed he is talking to fans on the brink of suicide in a bid to save lives five years after his own mental health crisis.
"They're not always asking for help, they're just telling their story. But what I can then do is signpost them to the relevant agency in their area."It's obviously not something to be singing and dancing about. But to be able to help others feels really good."He was saved after help from a close pal and went on to rebuild his life.

Jay ran Out of the Dark – an organisation which taught disadvantaged youths how to restore furniture – but it fell apart, leaving him at rock bottom.“My marriage had broken down, I didn’t have any money and the people that I employed I had to make redundant. The state that I was in I would have taken my own life, and I came close.
