One of the twins was warned about Shane Boxall's condition before attacking him
Two twins have been sent to prison after killing a beloved father-of-nine. Kailum Nightingale and Kieran Nightingale were convicted of manslaughter following a trial into the death of Shane Boxall in December.
Kailum Nightingale shouted: "Just give me my money or give my stuff." He became "enraged" and headbutted and kicked Mr Boxall's bedroom door. Two women there warned the brothers that Mr Boxall was particularly vulnerable because of having part of his skull removed. Kailum, of Poplar Grove, off Lorraine Street, Hull, was sentenced to ten years - because he threw the fatal punch that caused the victim to have fits and ultimately killed him. While Kieran, of Vermont Crescent, off Beverley Road, Hull, was sentenced to nine years in prison.
Kailum Nightingale punched Mr Boxall once. She said that she got in between them and shouted: "Just leave him, just leave him." 'My dad was too young to die' Mr Boxall, a father-of-nine, has spoken of how her world "just stopped spinning" and that his death caused "unbearable pain" to his family. The brutal killing had a "lasting effect on everybody" and had caused "utter grief" to his loved ones, also including nine grandchildren.
His family watched Mr Boxall deteriorate for three days and they had "false hope" when his legs and arms spasmed but this was because of a brain malfunction. His life support system was turned off.
