Summary In Twisters, Kate Carter was a storm chaser, but after being the only survivor from her team in a devastating tornado, she moved into a research position in the safety of New York. When her old friend Javi comes knocking hoping for her help in testing a groundbreaking new technology, Kate is hesitant but agrees to venture back into the world of storm chasing. In Oklahoma, she meets social media celebrity storm chaser Tyler Ownes and his crew, who search for the deadliest tornadoes.
Brandon Perea Details His Craziest Twisters Filming Experiences Screen Rant: Twisters is such an iconic film. I mean, the original Twister is such an iconic film too. Really one of the best disaster movies ever created. This follows right in those footsteps. What is something you learned about tornadoes that you didn't know before?
And then I start feeling my trailer shake really bad. It wasn't like a little subtle, it was like I was like, dude, am I about to tip over? And I start texting production being like, Hey, is there actually a tornado because I'm not going to leave my trailer, but what's protocol right now? Because I feel like I'm about to die. But it was all safe at the end of the day. But our sets got blown apart.
Brandon Perea: This Angel is killing people, man. It's a monster. Who's a good angel? We have a demon. Jean Jacket's a demon! Oh, that's incredible. That's the great thing about these home entertainment releases. Now, I was talking to Katie O'Brien at Comic-Con and I see that your cast for Twisters was very, very close. You guys were cheering each other on, rooting each other on. Can you talk about the camaraderie that you guys built on-camera and off-camera together?
Brandon Perea: My fear was following up Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance because yeah, I remember when I first read the script, I didn't know which role I was going for and then I saw this Boon guy and I was laughing at his lines. And then I remember just thinking, Oh, the poor bastard who has to play him? That's a lot of weight to carry.
Whoever can see it and you see the vision, I'm telling you, you'll get the best version of myself and you'll seem like a genius. So there's no universe I'm fighting towards anything anymore, whatever, leaving it to God and to the people that are willing to believe in me and have faith based off of what I've been able to showcase. Man, I'm telling you, I'll go crazy. You know what I'm saying? I would go ballistic, but I'm not asking for it.
Now last question I have for you is I'm so happy I got to experience this movie in an imax screen. I felt like I was in the movie. For real, you feel like you're immersed in the film when you're shooting these crazy epic, giant disaster scenes. Can you talk about what's going on on set? Can you share any fun stories behind that?
