Two properties in Innage House, Park Road, can be combined into one after Watford Borough Council planning approval.
The properties in Park Road, Watford, were originally part of the same detached house, Innage House, which was built around 1881 but later separated into multiple properties.
According planning documents, the applicant received approval to extend their property before an opportunity to purchase the neighbouring one appeared.Approved floor plans show that a central corridor will run where the existing dividing wall on the ground floor is, which would allow access to either side of the building.
Later additions, a side garage and rear conservatory, will be demolished and replaced with a single-storey rear extension. The extra front-door will be swapped for a window.Recommending approval, a Watford Borough Council planning officer said: “Overall, the scheme would not be unduly harmful to the locally listed building or the conservation area.
“The proposal would restore the locally listed building to a single dwelling improve its overall appearance and therefore the loss of a dwelling is acceptable in this case.”According to Rightmove, one of the properties sold for £1,150,000 in 2020. A third home, facing onto Stratford Road is also attached to the properties but is not part of the application.
