BREAKING: Mexican officials confirmed two of the Americans kidnapped after crossing the border to Mexico were found dead on Tuesday.
Four US citizens were taken captive in Matamoros, Tamaulipas on Friday shortly after crossing the border into the country from Brownsville, Texas, the US Embassy in Mexico confirmed.
On Monday, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that the Americans were caught in the crossfire between two rival factions of a drug cartel.
