Two teenage boys - both aged 14 - have been arrested after a 65-year-old man attacked at Stockport Interchange was left critically injured.
In the update, the force said the man remained in hospital fighting for his life. He hasn't been named. The Manchester Evening News told how the 'sickening attack' was reported at around 9.45pm on Tuesday night, when officers arrived at the newly-opened interchange and found the man seriously injured. He was rushed to hospital from the scene in a critical condition.In Thursday's statement, police said: "Two teenagers have been arrested following an investigation into a serious assault at Stockport Interchange.
Detective Inspector Shifa Chowdhury said: "This was an horrific attack that has left the victim in hospital with serious injuries. Our enquiries have been swift since the incident including an extensive review of CCTV to identify and trace those we believe responsible.
