The victim remains in hospital with serious leg injuries
The victim - a 31-year-old man - was hit by an unknown vehicle on Cobden Street at around 1.30am on Saturday . He remains in hospital awaiting surgery after suffering serious injuries to his legs, police said.
He may need 'many months' to recover. Following the incident, Nikky Howarth, 37, of Kingston Avenue, Chadderton, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.Ben Grogan, 29, of Horsedge Street, Oldham, has also been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Police are now appealing for any witnesses of the incident to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Scott Deakin of Oldham CID said: "I would like to send our best wishes to the victim and wish him a speedy recovery from his injuries sustained during this incident. This incident will have a detrimental impact on the victim and his family unit, the victim who went to hospital will need to endure a recovery period that could last many months.
"We would like anyone with information, dash cam or CCTV footage to come forward and should do so by contacting police on 0161 856 8999 quoting log number 293 of 28/05/2023. Reports can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
