The services will run after concerts at Co-op Live in December
Two extra late-night train services will be put on next month after two massive concerts at Manchester's Co-op Live arena.
Paul McCartney is set play a hugely anticipated show at the east Manchester venue on Sunday, December 15. Slipknot will then take to the stage at the venue on Tuesday, December 17. TransPennine Express has announced an extra late-night service after each of the gigs, with tickets available to buy for both services now. The first will leave Manchester Airport at 12.50am on Monday, December 16 after the former Beatles frontman's Sunday night concert.The train will stop at Manchester Piccadilly at 1.02am before travelling direct to Liverpool Lime Street. The other extra late-night service will run from Manchester Victoria at 12.
This will run to Liverpool Lime Street, stopping at Newton-le-Willows and Lea Green. Tickets are available to buy now on the TransPennine website or app. Adam Fairclough, interim customer experience and transformation director at TransPennine Express, said: "We are pleased to be able to offer these extra services to help get fans home after enjoying these concerts and to support the night-time economy in the area. We’re asking our customers to plan ahead and check before they travel as services may be busy."
