The UK’s largest teaching union has announced two further teacher strikes for the summer term The union claims its demands for a substantive pay rise have “fallen on stony ground”

All four major education unions are currently balloting members on further strike action later this year

If successful, the unions will be handed a legal mandate to launch walkouts beyond Christmas and into 2024. It means almost nine million primary and secondary school pupils in England could face another year of disrupted learning, following two years of remote teaching during the pandemic and on-off strikes over the past academic year.
