NYPD foils frightening NYC home invasion in tony Douglaston
Two people were hurt after a group of thugs armed with guns and hammers stormed their way into a Queens home and briefly held the residents hostage, authorities said.
The brute bandits struck a man, 43, in the foot with a hammer and socked a 71-year-old woman in the face, the NYPD said. A 32-year-old man, another woman, 44, and two children — a boy, 13, and a girl, 10 — were also in the house but unharmed, cops said. The three suspects — two 34-year-old men and another, 39 — were arrested, an NYPD spokesman said. Charges are pending. The injured adults refused medical attention at the scene, the spokesman added.Responding police encountered a frightened mom running from the home with her baby in her arms, NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry posted to X.
