Barry Mimnaugh's dogs Rocky and Ruby escaped from his garden and pounced upon Norma Smith in a nearby street before sinking their jaws into her beloved pet Pomeranian dog.

Two terriers face being destroyed after they mauled another dog to death and left a pensioner injured during a vicious attack.

Both terriers seized the tiny dog and repeatedly bit the terrified animal on its head and body during the horror incident in August last year.READ MORE: Glasgow police find 'stolen' car parked on street as search launched for suspect Mimnaugh appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted being the owner of dogs which were dangerously out of control. Prosecutors have asked for the dogs, who are currently being held in kennels, to be put down.

"The accused had received a letter from the local authority subject to the control of these dogs in July 2023 which predates the incident which the accused has now pled guilty to. "That letter confirmed the local authority had received complaints alleging that dogs in his care were causing alarm and distress.
