Martin Wilson and Connor Smith were found guilty of the murder of Nyle Corrigan in Liverpool. Two others were cleared of murder but one was found guilty of assisting an offender.

Two men who carried out the public execution of a teenager have been pictured for the first time. Martin Wilson, 37, and Connor Smith, 26, were convicted at Liverpool Crown Court this afternoon, Tuesday, December 17 of the murder of Nyle Corrigan, who was fatally shot in the back by the side of Boode Croft in Stockbridge Village.

Mr Corrigan, 19, was ambushed by the two men, who had travelled to the scene on foot wearing masks and carrying a Glock self-loading pistol , before shooting him at around 6.30pm on November 12 2020. Mr Corrigan died at the scene around 50 minutes later. The two gunmen were also convicted of conspiracy to possess a 9mm Glock self-loading pistol with intent to endanger life . The two murderers had been on trial along with Jamie Coggins, 28, and Anthony Llewellyn, 25, who were both also charged with murder. Following 12 hours and eight minutes of deliberations the jury of six men and five women cleared them both of murder - but Coggins was convicted of assisting an offender. Smith's parents - Melanie Smith, 47, and Mark Sharpe, 49 - joined their son in the dock after they were accused of assisting an offender, the particulars being they helped their son to Portsmouth before he fled to Spain. Both were cleared of the charges before them and were allowed to leave the dock along with Mr Llewellyn. Connor Smith hugged his mum, who appeared to be crying, before he was led to the cells. Mr Justice Goose, who presided over the trial, thanked the jurors for their service before turning to the Corrigan family and saying: 'The temperature is high. The jury has reached its verdicts, and that is the most important thing. If you please leave and make a peaceful retreat from the building.' Wilson, of no fixed abode but of Huyton ; Smith, of Midway Road in Huyton; and Coggins, of The Spinney in Stockbridge Village will be sentenced at the same court on Thursday. Wilson and Smith can both expect life sentences with a minimum of 30 years for murde
