A pair of thieves who allegedly stole cash from the Dubbo Airport after smashing through terminal doors are on the run from New South Wales Police.

Police have established a crime scene with officers now searching for the alleged criminals as part of an ongoing investigation.

Dubbo Regional Council confirmed to several media outlets there had been an incident on Tuesday morning following the reported break-in.
