A third man is in a serious condition in hospital
Two men in their 20s have died following a crash involving a lorry and a car on a North West motorway. Emergency services were called out to the M57, in Merseyside, at around 9.10pm last night .
A third man who was in the car, also in his 20s, was rushed to hospital for treatment. His condition is described as serious but stable by Merseyside Police.The two men who died are yet to be formally identified. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers, Merseyside Police says.
Detective Sergeant Andy Roper, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Merseyside Police, said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the families of the two men who tragically died and the third man seriously injured following last night’s collision. An investigation is underway which is in the very early stages.
