Two men died on the spot while two others were injured after four unidentified attackers opened fire on them in a diner along the National Highway, in Brgy. Santo. Nino, Tunga, Leyte, on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The fatalities were identified as Benjamin Balais and Ace Sonorio, both residents of the nearby town of Barugo, also in Leyte.The incident was reportedly perpetrated by four assailants who were on board an SUV and wearing bonnets. Initial reports disclosed that the victims were eating at the diner around 2:40 p.m. when the perpetrators appeared and riddled the victims using long firearms.The injured victims were rushed to a hospital while the local police alerted other units to track the suspects.
