Both men were jailed for ten months each after pleading guilty to affray
during a terrifying crime in a home. It kicked off in the multi-occupancy address of defendant David Carroll, in Lindley Street, Mansfield.
Eventually it was Carroll who retreated, while Edwards decided to stab a door 20 times. . Edwards was given a nine-month jail sentence consecutively for possessing a knife which he had on his arrest nearby.Lucy Jones, prosecuting, said the pair pleaded guilty at the first opportunity over the incident on October 12 this year. The first tranche of the crime was in the lounge, where another resident was sat on a wooden seat.
The second part of the crime happened upstairs. Another resident ran and barricaded herself in her room. Edwards had a knife in his hand at this point and was bleeding from a self-inflicted wound.
