A 25-year-old man has since been arrested following the incident on Fitzroy Avenue

Police were called to reports of a stabbing incident in Fitzroy Avenue at aroun 8.10pm on Saturday, August 3, and located two injured men outside a property.

Detective Sergeant McAllister said: “Officers received a report shortly after 8.10pm of a suspected stabbing in the Fitzroy Avenue area of the city. “On arrival, two men were located injured outside the property. One of the men had sustained a wound to his leg and hand, whilst the other man had a serious injury to his calf.

“He remains in custody at this time as enquiries continue into the investigation to determine exactly what happened and a motive. Anyone with information that could help our investigation is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1626 03/08/24.
