Two men jailed after fighting with men dressed in Union Jacks in Leeds street

Two Leeds men who attacked far-right protesters draped in Union Jack flags in the centre of Leeds have been jailed.

"He was the second male to get involved, by punching the white male dressed in black and closest to the defendant's group. He then moved across the road and punched a second male, then grabbed the flag around a male and punched him three times." He said: "They're walking down the street, not showing any violence, smiling. They're walking on the pavement and come across four members of the group, members of the far-right, who are walking down the middle of the street. It's not pedestrianised. They chose to walk in the middle of the group and chose to say things to the group.

"If one looks at how the defendant is dressed - nothing to affiliate him with a group - and is faced with what happened in town that day, four males dressed in what happened with the situation that day."
