Two bodies have been found after reports of capsized canoes in a Bedfordshire river.
Police said they received two calls about two overturned canoes and a"possible female in difficulties" in the Great River Ouse in Kempston shortly before before 11am on Sunday. Emergency crews were called to the scene near Bedford and two bodies were recovered following a search. "At this time, no formal identification has been made. Our officers continue to work towards establishing this," said"A police presence will remain in the area as our investigations continue. We'd like to ask members of the public to avoid attending the Weir embankment / Water Lane area if you can while we carry out further enquiries.
