As in previous years, the decision has been made in order to boost footfall in the city centre, supporting the late afternoon and evening company. A report recommending the decision pointed to difficult trading conditions being experienced this year.It continued: “Supporting increased opportunities for visitors to sagely shop in the city centre will help remove parked vehicles from the highway leading to reduced congestion and improved road safety for all.
