Two schoolboys, aged 14 and 16, have been arrested after a suspected chemical attack at Surbiton station in southwest London. British Transport Police noticed the two boys acting suspiciously around 4.20 pm today. Upon approaching the teenagers, the officers were exposed to a chemical substance believed to be alkaline. Two officers were rushed to the hospital, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident caused major disruptions in train services as some were cancelled and others severely delayed for about three hours. South Western Railway expects the disruption to continue until 10 pm today
