Two teenagers are fighting for their lives in hospital after a car mounted a kerb and struck them in Manchester city centre last night. The incident happened at around 10.30pm near Deansgate Locks when a Toyota Yaris 'lost control' colliding with another car before mounting the kerb and hitting pedestrians.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm last night when the popular area was packed with revellers. An investigation is underway. In a statement, Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to Whitworth Street West near Deansgate Locks at around 10.30pm. A woman, 30, was arrested at the scene.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and remains in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. "We understand at the time, due to the location, plenty of witnesses to the incident and would urge them to come forward if we haven’t spoken to you yet.
