Part of the motorway remains closed
Two teenagers have been rushed to hospital after a car overturned on the M602 . Police have closed off part of the Salford motorway since the early hours of this morning .
Emergency services were called out to the scene at around 12.40am, following a crash involving one car. Police believe it crashed into an embankment between the M60 at Eccles Interchange and junction two for Trafford Park. The driver, an 18-year-old man, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 19-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, has also been taken to hospital.GMP says his injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing. A force spokesperson said: "The road remains closed at this time, and we thank the public for their patience whilst our officers conduct enquiries.
A diversion is in place while police continue their work. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service added: "Just before 1am this morning , three fire engines from Stretford, Salford Central and Eccles fire station, along with the Technical Response Unit from Leigh, were called to reports of road traffic collision involving one vehicle on the M602 between junction one and two.
“Crews arrived quickly at the scene where the vehicle had rolled over. Firefighters made the vehicle safe and colleagues from North West Ambulance Service took two people to the hospital. Firefighters were in attendance for around one hour and thirty minutes.”
