Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has joined Dutch club PSV Eindhoven on loan for the remainder of the season. The 25-year-old will look to regain his form and playing time after a challenging spell at Old Trafford.
Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford has sent a farewell message to Tyrell Malacia after the defender completed his loan move to PSV Eindhoven. Malacia, 25, will spend the rest of the season in the Eredivisie, three years after joining Manchester United from Feyenoord under then-manager Erik ten Hag. His move to PSV was confirmed as one of United's final departures during the winter transfer window, with the Dutch club finalizing the deal on Tuesday, a day before the deadline in England.
Sources have revealed to The Manchester Evening News that PSV will cover Malacia's entire salary, and the option to make the move permanent for €10 million (£8.3 million) at the end of the season has been included. If the full-back makes his transfer permanent, United will incur a small loss following his £12.9 million arrival in 2022. The announcement of Malacia's move was shared on social media through both PSV and the Netherlands defender's accounts. Bruno Fernandes was among the few current players who offered support following Malacia's departure, while three other familiar faces, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Elanga, joined Rashford in sending their well wishes. Rashford, who also left the club on loan this month for Aston Villa, commented with 'Twinnyyyyy,' followed by two heart emojis.'I'm happy to be here. Finally playing good football again,' Malacia said to PSV's in-house club media after his move was finalized. 'I'm coming off a long injury, but by now I'm fit and I know that my time will come again. 'In every tough period there are also positive elements and in this case that is that I have become much stronger physically and mentally. 'I have more patience, am more mature, know my body better and things like that. I'm ready to pop and hopefully win several prizes with PSV.
